March is here already, and with it the beginning of my favourite season, Autumn.
I love the cool mornings and milder days, the soft golden light and the season’s gentle feel. Autumn reminds us of constant changes in nature, and I find when I walk at this time I naturally reflect on how this applies to our lives too.
Our first Cactus Revival photo shoot took place in some gorgeous golden light at the beach in Mornington. The sting had gone from the heat of the sun, and there was a beautiful warmth and stillness you sometimes get just before dusk.
My bro, Tim, took some stunning photos of Sophie wearing different Cactus pieces. Things had been hectic, so I had a loose plan for the shoot but basically handed the reins over to the expert.
Tim instinctively got the ethos and values of Cactus and captured it in his photos beautifully, allowing Soph to just be herself. Afterwards he said that Soph, who loves to dance, basically directed the whole thing.
Whenever I can in my mends, I try to channel my inner kid. Whether that’s through hiding a little secret treasure in a pocket, stitching on a golden trophy, planets in space or a lazy sloth. So what better way to capture these pieces than via a kid-led photo shoot?
We’re looking forward to organising another shoot with some new Cactus pieces soon; I know just the time to do it and I have just the photographer and kid in mind.
